Private Homes \ House at Clark Road, Edinburgh
This design for a young couple was commissioned when Edinburgh Council put a site up for sale. Unfortunately, our clients’ bid for the land was not accepted, so this house will never happen, but we are hoping to build elsewhere in Edinburgh for them. The site is unusual. It sits back from Clark Road with dense tree planting in the way which is retained under the ownership of the City Council. Access would be by a paved sloping private road to a former railway, now used as a cycle route.
The building would be a five-storey tower.
Access would be across a bridge to the entrance and bedrooms on the first floor, living rooms and kitchen etc. on the floor above, master bedroom above that and the tower completed with a roof terrace. The upper floors and terrace would get spectacular views south to the silhouette of the city centre. A garage and studio would be on the ground floor.
